BFSLS shall be fully committed to support adults with intellectual developmental disabilities; in living where and with whom they wish, exercising meaningful choices and control in their daily lives, work toward full membership within the community, obtain their long-range personal goals and in experiencing flexibility and quality of life towards their changing needs. 

Service Descriptions

BFSLS program is designed to assist consumers in skills that will help keep them healthy and safe in their respective homes and or surrounding communities. The services that BFSLS provides is centered around supporting its consumers to:

  1. Make appropriate housing decisions. 
  2. Make safe and healthy life choices.
  3. Maintain harmonious relationships.
  4. Integrate successfully within the community and develop community skills.
  5. Access flexible & tailored services, 24-hour support information and provide coordination role.

Statement of Purpose

BFSLS will provide support and assistance to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities to; establish and maintain a safe and independent life in homes they own, lease or rent, make meaningful choices and are supported toward their personal immediate and future goals, build relationships with family, friends or neighbors including their circle of support, actively participate in the community and access community resources and generic service, and service that reflect their individual preferences and needs which will contribute to their safety and quality of life.

RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT

Residential Support We provide safe and comfortable residential settings where individuals can live independently or with supportive roommates.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Skill Development Our skilled team works closely with individuals to develop and enhance their life skills, such as communication, financial management and health & safety

COMMUNITY INTEGRATION

Community Integration We are passionate about promoting community integration and social inclusion. We coordinate and participate in a variety of social and recreational activities.

ADVOCACY & RIGHTS

We are dedicated to promoting the rights and full integration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we are committed advocates for their cause.

What can we help with today?

Here are a few commonly asked questions that you may find helpful.

No your child must be 18 years of age to live in SLS. In some cases a waiver can be obtained but this is only in very specific circumstances. 

Bula Fiji SLS must have a REFERRAL from the Regional Center before they can provide any services.
Make an appointment with your Regional Center Case Manager and discuss your desire to reside in a Supported Living Arrangement. An Addendum to your IPP will be the next step in this process.
SSI income will pay for rent, food, utilities, and personal needs. Your services will be funded through the Regional Center and In Home Support Services also known as (IHSS).
In Home Support Services is a State Funded program that assists people to live in their own homes. After you move into your new residence an assessment will be requested on your behalf.
